Unionized workers of Samsung Electronics announced they will resume wage talks with the company later this week, two weeks after negotiations broke down.

According to industry sources on Tuesday, the representatives of the labor union will meet with company representatives on Thursday to discuss the schedule and direction of future discussions.

Since January, the two sides have held several rounds of wage talks but have failed to narrow their differences over wage increase rates, the vacation system, and bonuses.

The National Samsung Electronics Union(NSEU), which boasts 28-thousand members, gained the legal authority to proceed with a strike after participating in a mediation process organized by the National Labor Relations Commission and a vote among its members.

The country’s largest conglomerate has not experienced a strike since its founding in 1969.
