North Korea has again launched what are presumed to be trash-carrying balloons toward South Korea.

According to South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff(JCS), North Korea sent about 350 trash-carrying balloons over the border to the South from late Monday and overnight.

The JCS on Tuesday said about 100 balloons had fallen, mostly in northern Gyeonggi Province and Seoul, adding that as of 9 a.m. there were no balloons in the air.

The balloons were said to have mostly contained scraps of paper and waste, but no hazardous materials.

The JCS said the South Korean military is ready to immediately launch loudspeaker psychological warfare operations, warning that the implementation of the loudspeaker broadcasts depends on how the North will act.
