For the last couple of years, girl groups and female artists have by far been in the lead when it comes to ranking high on Korean music charts. While they are still tending to outperform their male counterparts in this realm, though, there are more boy groups these days that are ranking on charts like the MelOn Top 100 daily chart, which could mean that a resurgence in boy group popularity is happening!

At this time, there are seven different K-Pop boy groups that have at least one song ranked in the Top 100 (not including solo work from members of groups).

Two groups — N.Flying and digital boy group PLAVE — have one song on the chart right now. N.Flying’s song “Into You”, which came out on June 25, 2024, is currently ranked at #57, and had a peak at #54.

PLAVE, meanwhile, has their song “WAY 4 LUV” currently ranked at #92, with a peak of #60 previously. It was released on February 26, 2024.

Two groups also have two songs currently ranked in the Top 100 daily chart. The first is rookie boy group TWS, with their highest-ranking song being their debut track, “Plot Twist”. Released on January 22, 2024, it currently is ranked at #13, but peaked at #2 previously. Their new song, “If I’m S, Can You Be My N?”, which came out on June 24, 2024, both peaked and is currently ranked at #80.

The other group with two songs trending on the chart is BTS. Despite not releasing new music as a group for some time due to their military enlistment, the worldwide famous boy group continues to be listened to by tons of fans on a daily basis. “Dynamite”, which came out on August 21, 2020, is currently ranked at #74 even now, nearly four years after it was released. It previously peaked at #1. And of course, queen “Spring Day” is also still on the chart after ranking on it consistently since it came out on February 13, 2017. It peaked at #2, and is currently ranked #83.

One group — DAY6 — has three songs currently in the MelOn Top 100! One of them is “Time of Our Life”, originally released on July 15, 2019; it’s currently ranked at #12, with a peak at #9. Second is the even older song “You Were Beautiful”, which came out on February 6, 2017 and is currently ranked at #16 with a peak at #7. Finally, the more recent song “Welcome to the Show”, released on March 18, 2024, is currently ranked at and has had a peak at #19.

SEVENTEEN has the second-most songs trending, with four currently in the Top 100. First is their most recent title track “Maestro”, which is ranked at #47. It was released on April 29, 2024, and peaked at #15. Prior title track “Super” is also still on the chart at #85, and had a peak at #5 since it came out on April 24, 2023.

Their popular B-side track “Cheers to Youth” has also made an impressive stay on the chart since it came out along with “Maestro”, currently ranked at #98 with a peak at #49. And finally, beloved sub-unit song “Fighting” by BSS maintains a place on the chart over a year after it was released on February 6, 2023. With a peak at #4, it’s currently ranked at #59.

And finally, rookie boy group RIIZE has the most songs on the MelOn chart right now, with five total! Their recent title track “Boom Boom Bass”, released on June 17, 2024, is currently ranked and has peaked at #21. Their debut song “Get a Guitar”, which came out on September 4, 2023, is ranked at #51 and previously peaked at #13.

“Impossible”, released on April 18, 2024, peaked at #33 and is currently at #77; “Siren”, which came out on April 3, 2024, peaked at #21 and is currently at #82; and finally, “Love 119”, which was released on January 5, 2024, peaked at #4 and is currently at #48.
