HYBE‘s manipulation of NewJeans‘ parents has been exposed.
On May 28, Ilgan Sports exposed HYBE’s media play and revealed that the label’s PR executives have been pressuring reporters to write unfavorable articles about Min Hee Jin.
HYBE’s top PR representative then went to the outlet that reported this and demanded they erase the names in the article but was refused. HYBE had publicly revealed that Min Hee Jin had met with executives for its major shareholders but then absurdly demanded the media outlet delete the names of the executives once they were revealed….
After the April 25 audit announcement, HYBE’s head PR representative asked why Ilgan Sports and (redacted news outlet) were siding with Min Hee Jin. We had never sided with Min Hee Jin. We only wrote about her news conference…

While exposing HYBE’s deeds, Ilgan Sports also revealed how HYBE had lost the faith of NewJeans’ parents. According to the report, HYBE had pretended to care about the members to their parents.
What’s more, this shaman report is what made NewJeans’ parents lose faith in HYBE. 3 of the members’ parents met with HYBE’s CEO, Park Ji Won, and the label’s executives. After explaining the shaman allegations to NewJeans’ parents, HYBE told the parents not to share the news with their children as it may hurt the members. However, just 1 hour after the meeting, the articles were released. After this, the members’ parents felt they couldn’t trust HYBE after pretending to care about their daughters only to release the articles themselves.
If HYBE had planned to earn back the trust of NewJeans’ parents after Min Hee Jin’s departure, they wouldn’t have released those articles.
